The product data must be imported again, if you have (for example) created or modified Thesaurus entries or Ranking Rules. These rules are integrated into the search index, and can therefore be calculated during runtime without any performance loss. An import may be started selectively for a single channel, or performed globally for all channels.
Please note that an import may take significant time (especially for Suggest or a considerable amount of Recommendation data). For this reason, single-channel imports should be preferred in most cases.
Under certain circumstances a new import of Suggest or Recommendation data may be required. For Suggest, this is necessary when the Suggest settings or the Suggest import have been modified. This also includes and changes to the blacklist and/or whitelist in Suggest.
If the Recommendation Engine is used, the data must be imported whenever the matrix has been modified, or a new matrix has been added. FactFinder generates the new relationships and makes them available to the Recommendation Engine only after the data is imported.
By selecting Product import from source file, the data will be imported from the source file and loaded into the intermediate database and Worldmatch database. Leaving the option unchecked will result in an import from the intermediate database to the Worldmatch database only.
