Configuration

Once we receive the data feed and successfully import it into the FactFinder setup, we can begin configuring FactFinder according to the requirements received during the early stages.

The so-called basic configuration involves establishing initial settings to ensure that FactFinder delivers high-quality results right from the start. These initial configurations are based on a combination of best practices and the input you provide, tailored to your specific needs.

To achieve high-quality results, the following steps are taken during the basic configuration process:

  • Search optimization of your top search terms

  • Setting of the field weights e.g., deciding which fields are the most relevant for search results

  • Setting up at least two best practice ranking rules

  • Setting up best practice campaigns

  • Thesaurus, blacklist, synonyms basic settings

Prepare for the configuration

As the true product experts, you can assess whether a search result is of high quality or if it requires further refinement. Thus, we rely on your input to achieve search results that are relevant. Ideally, the following information is provided to set up the basic configuration:

Your top 50 search terms

  • Example: Product names, brand names, longtail keywords

  • No article or ID numbers

Your most important business rules

  • Example: Do you have private label products that you want to promote?

  • Example: Do you have certain sales products that you want to promote?

Further details, which are relevant for search results e.g.,

  • List of synonyms

  • Redirects for certain search terms

  • Etc.

Once the basic configuration is established, one of our Business Consultants will contact you to provide an overview of the settings that have been implemented and to discuss the results
